Prompt #10
The chapter I am going to review is chapter 8. This chapter discusses language arts. One way the chapter discusses is using google scholar. Google scholar has scholarly journals on it. So I would have students look up scholarly journals for a research project. For a written language students can use blogs, wikis, or prezis. For spoken language students can crete podcasts. For visual language students create youtube videos, prezi, or slideshare. I think I would integrate all of these because it gives students a variety of different technologies to utilize.
Prompt #9
The second issue I would like to discuss is digital textbooks, issue number 16. The question is, is it time to switch to digital textbooks? I agree with the people that say yes. There is numerous of reasons why we should switch to digital textbooks. Students nowadays have tablets and phones where ever they go. They would always have their textbook with them. It also is nice in the fact that textbooks could translate for ELL students or the text can be larger with students who have a hard time seeing the words. The textbook can even been read with a voice to help students. The textbook will also be up-to-date. I don't see any reason why not to switch to digital textbooks. We are in the technology age.
Prompt #8
The issue I want to discuss is Wikipedia, issue number 2. The issue is if Wikipedia is a friend or foe? I agree with the people that say that Wikipedia is a friend. Students should be allowed to use Wikipedia to lookup things and get a broad information about the topic. It also brings up the topic in class about what information is reliable and not reliable. Students can look up topics on wikipedia and compare information on there to other webistes to see if Wikipedia is a reliable source. It is a helpful source I believe because about anything you can think of is on Wikipedia and so many people use it.

Some technologies that I think that teachers should look out for are ARIS Mobile Media Learning Games, OrigamiReader by NewsFlex, and Wikitude World Browser. Prompt #6
So much technology has changed since I have been in elementary school. I remember when I was young we had computers but we had to go to the computer lab. A little later I remember my school got laptops that we could use and bring into the classroom. We had TV's on a cart that teachers would weal in whenever we would watch a movie. When I got into high school smart boards were invented and that was about the coolest thing. By my senior year of high school, my school was integrating iPads into the curriculum. I remember that some classes got to use them and I was always jealous of my friends who got iPads. Technology has come a long way since I was young. It is always changing and getting better. Who knows what technology will be like in a few years.
Prompt #5
I will enhance my students learning by incorporating technology as much as possible. I want to achieve all of the standards. I would first learn all about the technology that my school offers. I want to be knowledgeable and update on all technology. So I will teach lessons by using the technology like a smart board. I will encourage students to also help me by also using the smart board. I will encourage creativity when creating things such as an essay written on a laptop. I will also teach my students how to be safe on the internet. Tell them what they can and cannot post onto social media and that its important to only talk to people that you know.
Prompt #4
There are many things a teacher can use for technology in the classroom for students to achieve the six technology standards. Currently social networking is popular among students. A way that I thought that students could use social networking in the classroom is for the teacher to make a twitter account where the students could follow. The teacher could post interesting articles for the students to read. The teacher could post reminders for homework. Students could maybe be required to reply to posts. A student could also create a blog or prezi and then send the link to the twitter account. These ideas would fulfill many of the standards.
Prompt #3
As a teacher I know that all of my students are going to be digital natives. This means that they have been using technology for their entire lives. This means that I must use technology in the classroom. I will incorporate it into everyday activities. I will allow time for students to explore computers and iPads. I will use a smart board if one is available. I will play music and show movies or clips from the internet. I will also have students create projects like power point, prezis, or wikis. I remember as a student loving when we got to go on the computers. So I know that students will be very engaged when they get to use any sort of technology.
Prompt #2
I believe that Bloom's taxonomy is still a good fit for education today. It is a very good outline to follow. In my 215 class I remember my professor really believing that this is a good method to go off of, and I agree with him. It is a good method because you want your students to be able to create things and not just remember facts. I think that technology can be used with Bloom's Taxonomy. Maybe the end goal of a lesson is to create a power point on one of the battle in the Civil War. The power point would be an assessment to see if the student made it to the top of Bloom's Taxonomy which is create or evaluation.
